Just a short one this evening

July 2nd 99

Delightful is the land beyond all dreams,
Fairer than aught thine eyes have ever seen.
There all the year the fruit is on the tree,
And all the year the bloom is on the flower

Oisin and Niam

Once I healed up, I continued to run a few orders of stone carvings to Calgary and see a girl I was dating. She was from Quebec. Genevieve. So much fun. In the end, my nature and her life lead us in two separate directions, but it was a whole bag of fun while it lasted. I occasionally wonder what ever happened to her. She moved up to Red Deer thanks to me and then she just vanished. I heard she may have moved on to the west coast with a friend she had met. Funny that while looking for what to write in this journal I found a few pages with her writing. Her English was horrible, (but it was a mile better than my French).

My time in Innisfail was coming to a close. The business of selling stone carvings was also at an end and I was trying to get a new product to market called "Phat-Heds". Cotton beanie caps. I could have turned that into something, but I lacked the resources for manufacturing. I tried to make all the orders on my own with one sewing machine. It ended horribly. But I am getting ahead of myself. Prior to the end of the year things were getting pretty dire. I still found a way to go out and party like the next day was my last, but the means of my basic necessities were dwindling. On many occasions, Darren (a.k.a. Paco) bailed me out of a few tight spots. To this day, I have known him the longest of anyone outside of immediate family. We were quite the troublesome duo years ago and I have many stories in my journals worth a mention, but those will have to wait. Time caught up to one of us I guess, eh, my old friend? The other companion in arms during this time was my cousin Robin, but as the title states, this is a short entry. So you'll have to wait till tomorrow. I have to go work out at Paul Vickers house tomorrow. Yes THAT Paul Vickers. The irony will become obvious later when I moved to Fort McMurray.

In saecula saeculorum....(for all time)
